Democrat Secretary of State Blocks GOP Attempt to Test Voting Machines

Arizona’s Secretary of State, a registered Democrat, is blocking attempts by the Republican State Senate President to independently test the vote counting machines for integrity. As of the latest count, 1:41 PM MST on November 11, Biden is only 12,614 votes ahead.

Why not test the machines?

With the Presidential election race in Arizona too close to tell, Senate President Karen Fann, a Republican from Prescott, is asking for an independent team to do an analysis to test the state’s voting machines for accuracy and signs of tampering. For some strange reason, the Democrat Secretary of State, Katie Hobbs is frantically trying to block it.

In a letter to Hobbs, Fann made the mistake of not claiming any specific instances of fraud. Since she didn’t come up with any, she can forget about checking for fraudulent machines.

As Fann wrote, She’s “not claiming there was fraud” in the just-completed election, “But many others are making that claim,” and a simple outside review would put the “current controversy” to rest. That sounds reasonable enough to the voters but not to the Democrat in charge of counting the votes.

Hobbs surprisingly sided with the Deep State, throwing even more gasoline on the fire by calling extra oversight of the voting machines “unrequired” and “trafficking in conspiracy theories.”

In her formal response, Hobbs wrote, it is patently unreasonable to suggest that, despite there being zero credible evidence of any impropriety or widespread irregularities, election officials nonetheless have a responsibility to prove a negative.”

No ‘current controversy’

On Tuesday, Hobbs responded to the Senate President in writing. “To be clear, there is no ‘current controversy’ regarding elections in Arizona, outside of theories floated by those seeking to undermine our democratic process for political gain.

Elected officials should work to build, rather than damage, public confidence in our system.” Wow. As Shakespeare would say, “the lady doth protest too much, methinks.” That makes Arizona voters want to take a good look at the machines even more. “I respectfully decline your request.” She also said more than that but it amounts to whining.

Fann quickly pushed back noting, there’s nothing improper about her request, even absent any proof of fraud involving the voting related machines. “There are a lot of questions that the voters have,” she insists.”

And for the integrity of our democracy, why wouldn’t we want to get to the bottom of these questions?” There’s no harm in double checking, Fann said, “let’s find out what they are and either put them to bed or get those questions answered.”

Hobbs insists she already had the machines checked so the voters should simply take her word for it. She swears up and down that “everything being done follows the election laws.”

She also pointed out the machines “used to tabulate votes can be used only if first certified by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission and her own office, after review by a special State’s Equipment Certification Advisory Committee.” Since she tested it, nobody else needs to check her on it.

Senator Fann disagrees. “Isn’t it our duty and our responsibility to answer to our constituents and give them that comfort level of we are going to look into whatever their concerns are and if they are false or there is misinformation, then we should correct that for them.”
